"Texas Eagle" by Cris Plata

Cristobal "Cris" Plata was born in South Texas. And he grew up listening to all the great music that's available in that part of the state, all kinds of Mexican American forms and country music. I'm on a train bound for Dallas And it's runnin' late My big ol' mama... He came to Wisconsin in the 1960s as part of his migrant family. They picked fruit, ran combines, and worked all kinds of agricultural work. He met his wife, Ann Plata, a farm girl, and she became part of his band Extra Hot. Cris Plata is one of the most versatile musicians in country music, playing everything from Tex-Mex, to rock'n'roll, to popular, and to what he calls a Texas singer-songwriter music.
