Wendy Yuen:
I think the biggest thing, too, for everyone to remember is just that there are obviously the standard postpartum appointments with the OB doctor, but that is not all that happens postpartum. Like, having a baby is huge, and it changes you a lot in more ways than just physical health and mental health, like I said. It changes over time. As your baby gets older, as your life is changing with your newborn child, what you need is different. So even if I did have state insurance this time around and they were able to get me on meds and then it ended after two months, my meds would have needed to change again at six months, and then I would've been in the same boat where I couldn't afford to go through with finding someone just with my private insurance to cover that. So, you know, I don't want to sound ungrateful. Obviously, every little bit helps, you know, it makes a difference, but the care that you need as a postpartum mother doesn't end at two months.
