Quinn Taylor:
The partnership entails multiple things. One of them is the gun safety training classes. So, with the classes, community residents empowered with knowledge and information on how to safely store firearms, how to legally obtain a firearm, and then best practices on keeping that gun secure and out of harm's way. One of the things that we've seen over the last few years is an increase of car break-ins, and one of the main reasons for the number of car break-ins is because of firearms being left in vehicles, especially at basketball games and events to where you can't carry a firearm in. So, you have gun-abiding citizens leaving firearms in their cars, but then you have individuals that's seeing an opportunity to break into those vehicles and steal firearms. One of the things that we've been able to do with Prolific Arms is purchase over 600 gun safety boxes, and because of this partnership for all the participants who received this gun safety training, who pledges to practice and participate in best practices in regards to storing and keeping their gun out of harm's way, receives a free box and Prolific Arms will install it in their vehicle as well.

You should have a safety plan in place just as much as you should have a tornado plan in place, a fire plan in place. These are all preventive tools and practices that should be known for the household. You never know when the situation may happen, but if you are possessing a firearm in your house, it shouldn't be a secret to those who's living there. But it should also be some requirements and some precautions with that firearm, and some of that should be we're storing this firearm in a safe place out of reach, but we also want the family to know of in case of emergency, what measures should be taken.
