Honey, life used to be so cruel Never had anything sweet like you You around me, it's hard to lose On a hot streak, baby, no room for blue A cold, cold, kind of city I was dyin' in Sweet bright kind of light shine upon me again You taught my heart to believe And showed me how to find my feet Oh, yes, you did, baby Honey, I was so far past long gone It's a miracle, baby, you even found me at all Broken man playing for one more chance Wrapped your wings around me Like only an angel can Cold, cold, kind of city I was dyin' in, Lord Call Hong Kong a city.
I was dying in love.
Sweet bright kind of light, shine upon me again You taught me how to believe Showed me how to find my feet, oh Honey, I was so far past long gone It's a miracle, baby, you even found me at all Broken man playing for one last chance, yeah Wrapped your wings around me like only an angel can [ Cheers and applause ] Grew up watching "Austin City Limits," so it's a real honor to be here tonight, y'all.

Hell could never judge us Like the sky that hangs above us But where our lovin' grows is where I'll go I would risk it all I would sell my soul I'll follow you, even to the shadows You You ain't perfect either But you got me fallin' deeper Deeper than I've ever fell Ooh, and it's true You made me a believer Your love is such a healer But you love to give me hell Heaven only knows what Heaven only knows So baby, won't you kiss me in the shadows?
Hell could never judge us Like the sky that hangs above us But where our lovin' grows is where I'll go I would risk it all I would sell my soul I'd follow you, even to the shadows I would risk it all I would sell my soul I'd follow you, even to the shadows [ Cheers and applause ] - Does anybody out there still give a damn about me?

Austin, Texas, If I hollered out your name Would you hear me calling?
Heaven knows I miss my late-night livin' They're gettin' along without me, far as I can tell Maybe I'll go back to doin' that voodoo Lord, I do so well Sing a little rock 'n' roll music Raise a little honky tonk hell Oh-ho, raise some hell now And I gave up all my good time to keep my health Quit doing everything I love for somebody else Then I gambled away all the lovin' I ever had My cheap one-night romancin' always turns bad Heaven knows I miss my late-night livin' They're getting along without me, far as I can tell Maybe I'll go back to doing that voodoo love I do so well Sing a little rock 'n' roll music Raise a little honky tonk hell Sing a little rock 'n' roll music Raise a little honky tonk hell [ Song ends ] [ Cheers and applause ] Thank you all so much.

[ Song ends ] [ Cheers and applause ] Thank you.
[ Cheers and applause continues ] [ Cheers and applause continues ] My father was a touring musician.
Still is.
And my grandfather was a weekend warrior.
But a real pro, man.
You know?
I still have his, like, Nudie Suit.
And he was a real country gentleman.
And that's why his band was called The Country Gentlemen.
He loved country and western music, and that's what he raised me on.
And his dad, Morris, and his mother both played.
My great-grandmother played guitar, and my great-grandfather played fiddle.
And he was a moonshiner in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
And my grandfather learned fiddle from him and guitar.
And I played my granddaddy's guitar tonight here on Austin City Limits.
-Now, from small-town Oklahoma roots, a vital new voice in country music, Wyatt Flores.
- From 500 feet above And if I was a morning dove Searching for a place to land I'd perch up on the turnpike, watch old sedans and semis Wonder where they're going, and where they've been And looking back down through the years Before the hands of man were here Rusty shovels found black gold And tumbleweeds were free like the Choctaw and Cherokee Before they had to call this land their home If only they could see how it's gone Now it's red dirt tears and broken mirrors And a little trailer park just south of here End of the world is getting near But I still feel the same And it's red dirt poor and wanting more Mr.
Weatherman knocking at my door Where dreams go, drying up like rain Welcome to the plains And if I was a coyote running Stealing on the Cimarron Looking for a place to cool my head Find shelter from the voices telling me my only choice is Get up, get gone, keep moving west But if I ever left, those eyes would fill up fast with Red dirt tears and broken mirrors And a little trailer park just south of here End of the world is getting there But I still feel the same And it's red dirt poor and wanting more Mr.
Weatherman knocking down my door Where dreams go, drying up like rain Where dreams go, drying up like rain Welcome to the plains Now it's red dirt tears and broken mirrors And a little trailer park just south of here End of the world is getting near but I still feel the same And it's red dirt poor and wanting more Mr.
Weatherman knocking down my door Where dreams go, drying up like rain Where dreams go, drying up like rain Where dreams go, drying up like rain Welcome to the plains Welcome to the plains Welcome to the plains One, two, three, four!
[ Cheers and applause ] [ Song ends ] [ "West of Tulsa" plays ] Woke up somewhere west of Tulsa Last night ringing in my head Her phone buzzing on the nightstand Her arm asleep on my chest I wish I could disappear 'Cause it ain't too hard to tell Yeah, I think she's somebody to somebody else I've been a girl's last call When the bar's closing down I've been a guy on stage To the face in the crowd Something about waking up in a cheap hotel Makes me wanna be somebody to somebody else And I can't help but wonder, am I doing this right?
Do we see something real in those neon lights?
Or am I just a loner who hates sleeping alone?
Or maybe she's just here because I sang some...song 'Cause I've been a girl's last call When the bar's closing down I've been a guy on stage To the face in the crowd Somebody waking up in a cheap hotel Makes me wanna be somebody to somebody else [ Cheers and applause ] I don't know about y'all, but I'm ready to have some fun.
[ Cheers and applause ] 'Cause I just wanna be somebody Oh, oh, I just wanna be somebody Oh, oh, oh oh We just wanna be somebody Oh, oh, oh oh oh We just wanna be somebody Oh, oh, oh oh oh I've been a girl's last call When the bar's closing down I've been a guy on stage To the face in the crowd Sunday waking up in a cheap hotel Makes you wanna be somebody to somebody else Hell, yeah, it does!
[ Song ends ] [ Cheers and applause ] [ Cheers and applause continues ] If y'all don't mind, I'm gonna sing one for my cousin who's here with us this evening.
This one goes out to anyone that served in the military or who's a veteran that's here with us tonight or elsewhere.
[ Cheers and applause ] This one's called "Never Made it Home."
There's "welcome home" signs and crying happy tears And just because you're standing there Don't really mean you're here And what's that hum, that ringing in your ear?
Might just be a loaded gun, but have another beer 'Cause Uncle Sam, well, he just skipped town And that country that you're fighting for Ain't fighting for you now You hold your wife, but you both feel so alone Here's one for the ones that made it back But never made it home Ho-o-o-ome Whoa-oh-oh, home Here's one for the ones that made it back But never made it home Your sidekick in the sand Used to check on once a week Well, his wife called you last night And said he went to Fiddler's Green You can't blame him for taking his own life But you wish you could, too If he didn't promise to stay alive For that blue-eyed boy that you met through the phone Here's one for the ones that made it back But never made it home Oh, oh, oh oh Oh, oh oh oh Here's one for the ones that made it back But never made it home 'Cause Uncle Sam, well, he just skipped town And that country that you're fighting for Ain't fighting for you now You hold your wife, but you both feel so alone Here's one for the ones that made it back But never made it home Here's one for the ones that made it back But never made it home Oh, oh, oh oh Oh, oh oh oh oh Oh, oh oh oh, oh, oh oh Oh, oh, oh oh Oh, oh oh oh oh Here's one for the ones who made it back But never made it home [ Cheers and applause ] [ Cheers and applause ] [ "When I Die" plays ] [ Cheers and applause ] When I die And they lay me down I hope they drop the casket and my body rolls on out When they scoop me up And put me back in I hope it's on my side That's how I like to sleep in my bed 'Cause, oh, no, don't you cry Life is worth living Well, I did it, didn't I?
I could only get so much time So don't focus on the wrongs I never got right I hope it's you who's on my mind When I die So cut me in half 'Cause funerals cost a lot Let my family split the bill and put me in a to-go box So plant some flowers On that twenty square feet It'll look like my album cover That'd be pretty damn sweet And when I'm in the ground If I hear you talking... I hope I get the chance to be a ghost and scare your kids 'Cause, oh, no, don't you cry Life is worth living Well, I did it, didn't I?
I could only get so much time So don't focus on the wrongs I never got right I hope it's you who's on my mind When I die When I die When I die Oh, when I die Oh, oh, yeah When I die I'm the one that paid the price 'Cause you're movin' on while I'm in the afterlife [ Cheers and applause ] Oh, no, don't you cry Life is worth living Well, I did it, didn't I?
I can only give so much time So don't focus on the wrong I never got right If there's one thing I'm scared to leave behind It's you laying right there by my side When I die When I die When I die Oh, when I die [ Cheers and applause ] I've watched so many people play on this stage and, uh, I can't believe I'm getting to be one of them.
[ Cheers and applause ] [ "Milwaukee" plays ] Somewhere in Milwaukee There's snow covering concrete I still see you walking away And I tried to say I'm sorry But that frozen rain kept falling I couldn't find the words to make you stay Ooh ooh, ooh ooh, ooh ooh, ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh Ooh ooh, ooh ooh, ooh ooh, ooh ooh ooh ooh You can hate my eyes for watching you leave Hate my should've chased down feet And I tried to keep you wrapped in my arms You can hate my hands for letting you go Hate my lips for kissing yours cold Hiding all my feelings in the dark Please don't hate my heart And I choked up on that freezing wind I bit my tongue until it bled Holding back the words till my lungs turned blue And I still see your fingerprints Running across my frostbit skin All I'm breathing in is the truth You can hate my eyes for watching me leave Hate my should've chased you down feet And I tried to keep you wrapped in my arms You can hate my hands for letting you go Hate my lips for kissing yours cold Hiding all my feelings in the dark But please don't hate my heart Please don't hate my heart Ooh ooh, ooh ooh, ooh ooh, ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh Ooh ooh, ooh ooh, ooh ooh, ooh ooh ooh ooh Ooh ooh, ooh ooh, ooh ooh, ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh Ooh ooh, ooh ooh, ooh ooh, ooh ooh ooh ooh You can hate my eyes for watching you leave Hate my should have chased you down feet And I tried to keep you wrapped in my heart You can hate my hands for letting you go Hate my lips for kissing yours cold Hiding all my feelings in the dark But please don't hate my heart [ Cheers and applause ] [ Cheers and applause continues ] [ "Please Don't Go " plays ] Broken glass from a picture frame scattered on the floor You're screaming at me, can't take it anymore I try and hold you, you just push me away Well, it ain't nothin' new 'Cause we just did this yesterday Times are getting hard Hits you like a bullet through your heart Been tearing me apart, and it's killing you, I know Said, "Won't you stay with me?
I can't keep goin' if you leave" Ain't how it's supposed to be So please don't go When the fire's in your eyes, I miss their ocean blue I miss the dark-haired girl that I thought I once knew It's hard to reason with these voices in your head And it's been three damn days since you've gotten out of bed Times are getting hard It hits you like a bullet through your heart Been tearing me apart, and it's killing you, I know Said, "Won't you stay with me?
I can't keep goin' if you leave" Ain't how it's supposed to be So please don't go And times are getting hard - Hits you like a bullet through your heart - Been tearin' me apart, and it's killing you, I know Said, "Won't you stay with me?
I can't keep goin' if you leave Ain't how it's supposed to be So please don't go Said, "Won't you stay with me?
I can't keep goin' if you leave" Ain't how it's supposed to be So please don't go I said please don't go I said please don't go Please don't go [ Cheers and applause ] [ Cheers and applause continues ] [ Cheers and applause continues ] -I've been writing music since I was 18, and these songs are still here, and we're still playing them.
And to know that people care about it and that we're getting to sing to them here means the absolute world.
I told myself that if I did write songs, I wanted to be that person people listen to that got them through whatever they were going through and whatever situation that might be.
And I'm grateful because I have done that.
I've made a lot of my dreams come true, and that's one of the biggest ones is being -- is being there for people.
And I've been a lot of -- a part of a lot of people's lives, even though I wasn't right there next to them, and that's the coolest part about music.
There for a while, all I did was chase this dream down, and that's what you got to do at times.
But now that I'm here, I just want to be a better person for my family and my friends.
I've seen that story play out so many times, where you try so hard to make it out and you never do.
But for me, nowadays, it's like I tried so hard to leave Oklahoma and get out.
You know, everyone's got that -- that mentality.
But I've been everywhere, and now I'm fighting every chance that I can to get back home.
