2024 WSMA State Honors Concerts

The Wisconsin School Music Association (WSMA) State Honors Concerts are the culmination of a nine month journey shared by over 400 of the state’s most musically talented youth. Following spring auditions and a four day summer camp, students reunite in fall for two days of live performances. Enjoy highlights from this event, recorded October 24-25.

[bright music] - Narrator 1: Every fall, Wisconsin's most talented high school musicians gather in Madison to participate in a unique workshop.
- We're in High School Honors Orchestra in the Overture Hall in Madison.
- Students from all over Wisconsin get together and play in one massive band together.
We've made quite a few fun memories.
- French horns!
– Narrator 1: Under the guidance of acclaimed conductors, over 400 students take center stage at Overture Hall.
- It's massive.
It kind of gives you vertigo to see all the seats.
There's like, three layers, four layers.
– Student: It's an amazing opportunity, and anyone who can do it definitely should.
