That whole production did so much for color-blind casting, for race relations. You know, people forgot you were Black. I mean, they could see that you were Black, but you were Aaron Burr. -

Yeah. That's magical. I had a desire to help paint a fuller picture of our humanity. Mm-hm. It's a strange thing that I ended up doing that through Aaron Burr's story, but yeah, I was the avatar. And so, people got to see a young Black man as this complicated, I hope interesting, flawed, beautiful human being. I wanted to be as beautiful, and flawed, and brash, and bold, and brilliant as the people that I know. As the people that raised me, you know? And so, I got to do that. If I never get to do it again, I got to do it once.
