Scott Smith | Director
As creative director for ad agencies Leo Burnett and Element 79, Smith developed many award- winning campaigns that have played an integral role in brand building for clients like Disney, Quaker, Hallmark, Miller Brewing, Sony, McDonald’s and Kellogg’s. In 2000, Smith began writing and directing his own commercials as well as several award-winning short films. He was named one of the top three directors (out of nearly 1,800 competitors) in Project Greenlight’s 2004 Directing competition, a Budweiser Discovery Filmmaker award nominee, as well as named Best Director at the 2004 Chicago Community Cinema Awards.
Most recently Scott’s award-winning documentary short “Waiting on God” was named an official 2007 selection of the Beverly Hills Film Festival. Currently he is in development on a feature film, “Ink,” which he cowrote and will be directing.
John Fromstein | Executive Producer
A 25-year veteran of the advertising business, Fromstein has been responsible for several campaigns for such clients as Quaker Oats, Helene Curtis and Gatorade, many of which won Effie Awards for advertising effectiveness. During his tenure as an account director, he managed the production of more than 100 commercials including the acclaimed “Be Like Mike” spots for Gatorade with Michael Jordan.
In 2001, Fromstein founded Fulton Market Educational Films NFP, a nonprofit documentary production company, and Fulton Market Films LLC, a commercial production company serving agency and corporate clients. In 2006, Fromstein founded Fulton Market Media LLC to help clients leverage the rapidly expanding opportunities for brands to strengthen their bond with consumers.
