And I was like, "What does that even mean?

Like, what -- I just want to sing country music."

And then I realized how hard it is for, you know, not only people of color, but for women to pursue a career in country music.

It's not enough for just Charley Pride to make it or Darius Rucker to make it.

What I've realized is, in order to see true change, it's not enough for just one or two or three every 25, 50 years to make it.

It needs to be consistent rotation of artists to have viable, successful careers in order to see real change.

In order to do that, it has to start with somewhere.

So I was like, "I'm your Huckleberry.

I'll do it.

I'll start the conversation."

Because it's important.

When you're stepping into these roles, I think it is essential and your duty to make sure that you open the doors and lift other people up to make sure that they have careers, as well.
