Watch Saving the Titanic and The Titanic with Len Goodman starting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 10 on Wisconsin Public Television.

A century has passed since the unsinkable ship collided with an iceberg and sank to the bottom of the Atlantic. Since then, hundreds of stories have been told surrounding the great tragedy – The latest and most popular of course being the remastered 3D version of James Cameron’s The Titanic.

However, Hollywood has a tendency to jumble the facts around and focus on one key element that will fill theater seats. What about the rest of the passengers and crew? What else happened on the maiden voyage and how does it still impact us today?

Some questions will never be answered, but hopefully some answers will come to light during Titanic Night!

Pete Schwaba is a stand-up comedian, writer, director and host of "Director's Cut" on PBS Wisconsin. His writing and directing credits include “A Guy Thing” and “The Godfather of Green Bay.” Pete’s TV writing credits include “Are you Smarter than a 5th Grader?” as Jeff Foxworthy’s writer/producer and the sports comedy show “Sports Soup.” Pete is married with two children and splits time between Los Angeles and the Midwest.

I’m a project manager at PBS Wisconsin, and formerly an associate editor at WisContext. When I’m not scouring the state for fun music and arts content, I’m usually being forced to go on a hike by my demanding border collie or being forced to read on the couch by my demanding cats.
