Quilt Expo Has Something for Everyone

It’s that time of year again when 20,000 quilters from across the country descend on Madison for three days of the finest quilts, tons of educational seminars and hands on workshops and a vendor mall filled with the latest in quilting technology, fabrics, threads and more – all in support of Wisconsin Public Television programs. It’s Quilt Expo, and it starts Thursday at the Alliant Energy Center.

As a non-quilter who has attended each of the previous Quilt Expo events, I can promise that there is literally something at this event for everyone. Even if you’ve never picked up a needle or don’t know a fat quarter from pin cushion, you will appreciate the beautiful colors, textures, intricate details, stitching and more. Come on out to the Exhibition Hall at the Alliant Energy Center, explore the judged and juried quilt contest display and the remarkable special collections all throughout the hall and even meet Nancy Zieman, host of WPT’s Sewing With Nancy!
