Going Solo…or Not?

On Facebook today, PBS NewsHour posted a link to the segment “Why More Americans Are Living Alone” in which Ray Suarez talks with sociologist Eric Klinenberg about his new book Going Solo: The Extraordinary Rise and Surprising Appeal of Living Alone.

NewsHour posed the question “Is this you?” to its Facebook followers, and several people have replied with an emphatic “yes!” This seems reasonable since more than 50 percent of American adults are single, with 4 million of them living alone. But what about those of you who have lived alone and hated it? And what about you “singletons” who may forgo a romantic relationship, but prefer to live with a friend, sibling or even your parents? It’d be great to see your comments added to the NewsHour’s page.
