Watch Christmas in Yellowstone at 7:00 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 19 on Wisconsin Public Television.  Encore at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 24.

Like many others, it only took me one subzero walk along Wisconsin’s icy roads to forget there is a certain beauty that comes along with winter. Despite the fact that we all bundle up and lock ourselves indoors, life still continues in the depths of winter. This winter, soak in all the outdoors have to off from the comfort and warmth of your home. Take a Christmas trip to Yellowstone National Park and watch as the many animals that inhabit our country’s first national park live in the wintertime.  This is your chance to follow wolves and red foxes as they hunt for food, watch river otters swim and play despite the freezing temperatures, and even witness a grizzly bear giving birth to two cubs while in deep hibernation.

Enjoy the preview below of a red fox hunting for mice in a somewhat odd and curious manner, and don’t forget to tune in this Sunday as well as Christmas Eve to watch the entire hour long show.
