Taxes aren’t due for months. And admittedly, they’re nobody’s favorite holiday topic. (To our knowledge, no carols have been written about the Forms 1040.) But it’s worth thinking ahead to April 15 this holiday week, because a deadline is looming:

In order to qualify for a 2012 tax deduction, your donation to Wisconsin Public Television has to be made by midnight on Monday, Dec. 31.

This is an important time of year, as Wisconsin Public Television staff make programming decisions for 2013. Sound financial footing is critical to bringing you the best that television has to offer, and year-end gifts bolster our balance sheet as we make plans for the future. Whether or not a tax deduction is an important factor for you, please make your gift today. Your donation will make another great year of discovery happen on Wisconsin Public Television.

I’m a project manager at PBS Wisconsin, and formerly an associate editor at WisContext. When I’m not scouring the state for fun music and arts content, I’m usually being forced to go on a hike by my demanding border collie or being forced to read on the couch by my demanding cats.
