Green Bay Packers Uniforms Through the Years
When he took over in 1959, he changed everything. He really did change the culture of the team. He made all the decisions including the uniform color. And at that time, the previous season in 1958, they had worn a unique uniform that they had never worn at any other time. They wore a green and a white. It was one of the few times there was no gold in the uniform. But he went back to the more traditional uniform of the green and gold. The "G" logo would be added a few years later in 1961. But even then there were so many different uniforms. There are uniforms we could have possibly missed. There's a uniform in 1929 that they wore for a couple years. 1929-1930, which is the years they won their first NFL championships in. There is some debate on what color that uniform was. We found newspaper clippings where it said, "The uniform was all gold "and then the surrounding parts were more blue." But there is no color pictures from the time to prove that and you look at the black and white and sure looks like the uniform is navy blue with the gold around the circle.
