The Mayberry Guru's Memorabilia Collection
This is my trophy collection and my different awards up there that I've received. I've had the car five years and I've gotten close to 40 various trophies. To be honest, I enjoy going to the car shows where there are not trophies the most. You don't have a competition. You're there for fun. Those are the Hawthorne Mayberry Village sets. This is the original one and the winter Christmas one. Those are replicas of the important buildings in Mayberry. They come with a deed. If I ever decide to get rid of them, I have to sign the deed over because they're collectable. I think I'm one of the few that have every piece. I decided I was going to buy everything that came out. They've gone up in value considerably since I bought them. This is another uniform I wear. In one episode, Barney bought a motorcycle with a side car so he dresses up with this. So I got this. The helmet was a gift. The goggles I got from Yugoslavia. They're from World War II. I took the lens out because on the show, Barney doesn't have lens in his. The leather jacket I found on eBay. This is Andy Griffith Show trading cards. They're like baseball cards except there's no bubblegum. Each one has ten different cards in them. This is a complete set. I have two complete sets. I put them in a display case like this. They're various scenes from all the black and white episodes, just real important scenes. When I look at these, I can tell what episode they're from. I know exactly what scene they are. This was as a gift. They presented me with a signed copy from Don Knotts, as a thank you for coming to the car shows. Mayberry's high school was called Mayberry Union High. Its colors were orange and blue. It was made just as a collector item. You never saw it on TV. Nobody ever wore it. It's a collector item now. Very hard to find. I don't even know if they make them anymore so if you can find one, buy one.
