My sister only had a snare drum. So my dad hounded around to people that he knew that were musicians and he found a bass drum. Well, she became so good on that, that when we played at dances or some occasion, she'd all at once went bang and that stick flew up in the air just as high she could throw it and it kept on coming right down. This one was still going. She'd grab that stick and never miss a beat. People got so they would know that she did that and would be playing at a dance or something and she'd say, "Helen, hit it!" And she'd bang-- that stick would just fly right up in the air and come down. She'd grab it and just keep right on playing. They got such a kick out of that.
