Announcer: This is the Wheaton College Christmas Festival.
Wheaton College Choirs: We praise thee, O God!
Dr. Philip Ryken: Merry Christmas, and welcome to the stage of Edman Memorial Chapel on the campus of Wheaton College in Wheaton, Illinois.
This year our Conservatory of Music presents a traditional service of nine lessons and carols, performed by our choirs, our Symphonic Band, and our Harp Ensemble.
Since 1860, Wheaton has been committed to Christ-centered liberal arts education, and that's expressed in part through excellence in music and worship. "
Our hope and prayer for you this Christmas is that Jesus Christ would show you the joy of his own redeeming love.
Soloist: Once in royal David's city Stood a lowly cattle shed, Where a mother laid her baby In a manger for his bed: Mary was that mother mild, Jesus Christ her little child.
Wheaton College Choirs: He came down to earth from heaven Who is God and Lord of all, And his shelter was a stable, And his cradle was a stall; With the poor, and mean, and lowly, Lived on earth our Savior holy.
Wheaton College Choirs and Audience: And our eyes at last shall see him, Through his own redeeming love, For that child so dear and gentle Is our Lord in heaven above; And he leads his children on To the place where he is gone.
Not in that poor lowly stable, With the oxen standing by, We shall see him; but in heaven, Set at God's right hand on high; When like stars his children crowned All in white shall wait around.
Wheaton College Symphonic Band: [Instrumental symphonic band music] Applause Applause Wheaton College Men's Glee Club: Of the Father's love begotten, Ere the worlds began to be, He is Alpha and Omega, He the source, the ending he, Of the things that are, that have been, And that future years shall see, Evermore and evermore!
O that birth forever blessed, When the Virgin, full of grace, By the Holy Ghost conceiving, Bore the Savior of our race; And the Babe, the world's Redeemer, First revealed his sacred face, Evermore and evermore!
O ye heights of heaven, adore him, Angel hosts, his praises sing, Powers, dominions, bow before him, And extol our God and King; Let no tongue on earth be silent, Every voice in concert ring, Evermore and evermore!
Christ, to thee with God the Father, And, O Holy Ghost, to thee, Hymn and chant and high thanksgiving: And unwearied praises be: Honor, glory, and dominion, And eternal victory, Evermore and evermore!

Then was I born of a virgin pure, Of her I took fleshly substance; Thus was I knit to man's nature, To call my true love to my dance: Sing O my love; O my love my love my love; This have I done for my true love.
In a manger laid and wrapped I was, So very poor this was my chance, Betwixt an ox and a silly poor ass, To call my true love to my dance: Sing O my love; O my love my love my love; This have I done for my true love.
Then afterwards baptized I was; The Holy Ghost on me did glance, My father's voice heard from above, To call my true love to my dance: Sing O my love; O my love my love my love; This have I done for my true love.
For my true love.
Soloist: My soul doth magnify the Lord.

And my spirit doth rejoice, My spirit doth rejoice, In God my savior.

His mercy is upon them that fear him, From generation to generation.

He hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts.
He hath brought down rulers from their thrones.
But hath lifted Lifted The humble.
