Upcoming WHA-TV signal disruptions

WHA-TV, the broadcast TV transmission signal that serves the Madison and south-central Wisconsin region, will temporarily switch to backup transmission equipment on Friday, Oct. 23, as we undergo a technical upgrade to provide even better service in the future.

The switch will take approximately one hour, during which WHA-TV will be off the air. We’ll switch back to our regular equipment two to three weeks later, with another brief interruption of approximately one hour.

While we’re using the backup equipment, WHA-TV’s coverage area will be temporarily reduced, particularly west of Madison. Some viewers in these areas may experience a weaker signal or a temporary loss of service.

If you have trouble receiving your usual broadcast signal during this time period, please know that all four of PBS Wisconsin’s channels stream for free online at pbswisconsin.org and in the free PBS app on all streaming devices.

We appreciate your patience as we complete this work to maintain WHA-TV’s broadcast service.
