My father and my mother sent him off to D.C. with their blessings and I was a young teenager at the time and George and all of us were there and it was exciting, it was that chaos, you said "odelay" he's going up to D.C. que suave Then when Schwimmer and those guys and Goodman and those guys, the whole world was looking for somebody and Willie didn't show up. I'll never forget that. At that time, they brought youth from all over the country to go register in Mississippi and Willie had this old car that he took up there and it very much the same kind of car they found burned and we hadn't heard from Willie. Well, his car broke down on the way back and they had to walk, you know, and finally it was early in the morning, Mom and Dad were just worried to death and he knocks on the back door and Mom goes and gives him a big hug and is crying like crazy, 'cause she was worried about him and Dad gave him a (speaking in a foreign language) for not letting him know that he was okay.
