Maestro & The European Pop Orchestra: Love & Peace Concert
(audience applauding) (audience applauding and cheering) (audience applauding and cheering) (audience applauding and cheering) MAESTRO GUIDO: Good evening, ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to the market of Kerkrade in the Netherlands.
My name is Guido and the people behind me are my great prides, my orchestra.
(audience applauding and cheering) I was really looking forward to this concert and we have put together a beautiful concert program for you.
You now hear from Les Misrables, "I Dreamed a Dream," sung by our own nightingale, Wendy Kokkelkoren.
(audience applauding and cheering) I dreamed a dream in time gone by When hope was high And life worth living I dreamed that love would never die I dreamed that God would be forgiving When I was young and unafraid And dreams were made and used and wasted There was no ransom to be paid No song unsung No wine untasted Where the tigers come at night With their voices soft as thunder As they tear your hope apart As they turn your dreams to shame He slept a summer by my side He filled my days with endless wonder He took my childhood in his stride But he was gone when autumn came And still I dream he'll come to me That we'll live the years together But there are dreams that cannot be And there are storms we cannot weather I had a dream my life would be So different from this hell I'm living So different now from what it seemed Now life has killed The dream I dreamed (audience applauding and cheering) I'm a huge fan of Irish music.
Listen to the uplifting sounds of "Gravel Walk."
(audience applauding and cheering) This next composition really needs no introduction at all.
Wendy Kokkelkoren sings for you from the movie Titanic, "My Heart Will Go On."
(audience applauding and cheering) Every night in my dreams I see you, I feel you That is how I know you go on Far across the distance And spaces between us You have come to show you go on Near, far, wherever you are I believe that the heart does go on Once more, you open the door And you're here in my heart And my heart will go on and on Love can touch us one time And last for a lifetime And never let go 'til we're gone Love was when I loved you One true time I hold to In my life, we'll always go on Near, far, wherever you are I believe that the heart does go on Once more, you open the door And you're here in my heart And my heart will go on and on You're here, there's nothing I fear And I know that my heart will go on We'll stay forever this way You are safe in my heart And my heart will go on and on Ooh Ooh (audience applauding and cheering) (audience applauding and cheering) (audience applauding and cheering) MAESTRO GUIDO: The next soloist loves to be on stage.
She loves to perform for you.
Tonight she will sing a very special song.
She's 11 years old.
Give her a big hand and big applause.
Emma-Sophie.
(audience applauding and cheering) The snow glows white on the mountain tonight Not a footprint to be seen A kingdom of isolation And it looks like I'm the queen The wind is howling like This swirling storm inside Couldn't keep it in, Heaven knows I tried Don't let them in, don't let them see Be the good girl you always have to be Conceal, don't feel, don't let them know Well, now they know Let it go, let it go Can't hold it back anymore Let it go, let it go Turn away and slam the door I don't care what they're going to say Let the storm rage on Cold never bothered me anyway It's funny how some distance Makes everything seem small And the fears that once controlled me Can't get to me at all It's time to see what I can do To test the limits and break through No right, no wrong, no rules for me I'm free Let it go, let it go I'm one with the wind and sky Let it go, let it go You will never see me cry Here I stand and here I'll stay Let the storm rage on My power flurries through the air into the ground My soul is spiraling in Frozen fractals all around And one thought crystallizes Like an icy blast I'm never going back, the past is in the past Let it go, let it go And I'll rise like the break of dawn Let it go, let it go You will never see me cry Here I stand and here I'll stay Let the storm rage on Cold never bothered me anyway (audience applauding and cheering) (audience applauding and cheering) You are my sunshine, my only sunshine You make me happy when skies are gray You'll never know, dear, how much I love you Please don't take my sunshine away You are my sunshine, my only sunshine You make me happy when skies are gray You'll never know, dear, how much I love you Please don't take my sunshine away I always love you and make you happy If you will only stay the same But if you leave me and love another You'll regret it all some day You are my sunshine, my only sunshine You make me happy when skies are gray You'll never know, dear, how much I love you Please don't take my sunshine away Please don't take my sunshine away I always love you and make you happy If you will only stay the same But if you leave me and love another You'll regret it all some day You are my sunshine, my only sunshine You make me happy when skies are gray You'll never know, dear, how much I love you Please don't take my sunshine away You are my sunshine, my only sunshine You make me happy when skies are gray You'll never know, dear, how much I love you Please don't take my sunshine away I always love you and make you happy If you will only stay the same But if you leave me and love another You'll regret it all some day Please don't take my sunshine away (audience applauding and cheering) This duet has been on my wishlist for many years.
Now this dream is finally coming true.
Wendy Kokkelkoren and Tommy Flemming sing for you, "Perhaps Love."
(audience applauding and cheering) Perhaps love is like a resting place A shelter from the storm It exists to give you comfort It is there to keep you warm And in those times of trouble When you are most alone The memory of love will bring you home Perhaps love is like a window Perhaps an open door It invites you to come closer It wants to show you more And even if you lose yourself And don't know what to do The memory of love will bring you through Oh, love to some is like a cloud To some as strong as steel For some a way of living, for some a way to feel And some say love is holding on And some say letting go And some say love is everything And some say they don't know Perhaps love is like an ocean Full of conflict, full of change Like a fire when it's cold outside Or thunder when it rains If I should live forever And all my dreams come true My memories of love will be of you And some say love is holding on And some say letting go And some say love is everything And some say they don't know Perhaps love is like an ocean Full of conflict, full of pain Like a fire when it's cold outside Or thunder when it rains If I should live forever And all my dreams come true My memories of love will be of you My memories of love will be of you (audience applauding and cheering) Ladies and gentlemen, Tommy Flemming and Wendy Kokkelkoren.
(audience applauding and cheering) This musical duo needs no introduction.
Wherever they go, they are very successful and the audience just loves them.
Give them a huge applause of warm welcome, Mr. & Mrs. Rock 'n Roll, Ren Shuman and Angel-Eye.
(audience applauding and cheering) (audience applauding and cheering) Are you lonesome tonight Do you miss me tonight Are you sorry we drifted apart And does your memory stray To a bright summer day When I kissed you and called you sweetheart Do the chairs in your parlor Seem empty and bare And do you gaze at your doorstep And picture me there Is your heart filled with pain Shall I come back again Tell me, dear, are you lonesome tonight RENE: All right, maestro?
I wonder if you're lonesome tonight?
You know someone said the world is a stage, and each must play a part.
Fate had me playing love with you as my sweetheart.
Act one was where we met, I loved you at first glance.
You read your lines so cleverly and never missed a cue.
Then came act two.
You seemed to change, you acted strange, and why, I'd never know.
Mmmm Well, honey, you lied when you said you loved me, and I had no cause to doubt you.
But I'd go on hearing you lie than go living without you.
And now the stage is bare and I'm standing here with emptiness all around.
And if you won't come back to me, then they can bring the curtain down.
Well is your heart filled with pain Shall I come back again Tell me, dear, are you lonesome tonight Mmmm (audience applauding and cheering) You shake my nerves and you rattle my brain Come on!
Too much love drives a man insane You broke my will What a thrill Goodness gracious, Angel on fire I laughed at love and I thought it was funny Woo!
You came along and you moved me, honey You changed my mind This love is fine Goodness gracious, great balls of fire!
Now kiss me, baby Woo, it feels good A-hold me, baby I wanna love you like a lover should You're fine, so kind I got to tell the world That you're mine, mine, mine I chew my nails and then I twiddle my thumbs I'm really nervous, and it sure is fun Come on, baby You drive me crazy Goodness gracious, Angel on fire Yeah!
