Cichlids form strong bond with their mates and are as loyal to their babies as they are to each other. (birds chirping) But out here, danger is never far away. (dramatic music) The different properties of the clear water spring and the main river channel, which is stained dark by rotting leaves, creates a bizarre underwater phenomenon. A water wall. It's the perfect hiding place for voracious mouths, freshwater Amazon barracuda and a large wolf fish. They lurk, watching and waiting. But the predators seem strangely reluctant to enter the clear water.
