I vote because I want to use every tactic at my disposal to make sure that my voice is heard. I want to make sure that if I'm talking about civic engagement, I'm engaging in every step of the process that I personally can. It's a really big, important civic duty. But I also think at the same time, people should know that it's not a silver bullet.

Step one is to show up at the polls, but we also need to make sure that we're engaging people the day after the election day, making sure that representatives always feel a little tense and always feel a little uncomfortable because they really need to be subjecting their agenda to the will of the people and the people that they represent. And so I think representation matters, not representation for representation's sake, but really having true people represent the interests and the identities that they're a part of I think is really important. I think it's really impactful for our work.
