A ‘band of ringers” based in Dallas and Austin, The Texas Gentlemen are a versatile collective known for genre-blending skills, from pop-soul to country funk. They’ve served as a backing band for many A-List’ers (G. Strait, K Kristofferson, etc.) and are regularly compared to such legendary groups as LA’s Wrecking Crew and Muscle Shoals’ Swampers.

(gentle bluesy music) (gentle bluesy music) She wasn't always at the top of the class But that was a hump she got over, oh yeah After hours as they dug through the trash Looking for the key to the motor Gone the long way for the sake of the road But never had a shoulder to cry on, oh no She knew if she took it where the fault lines erode There'd be no lack of hills to die on (bluesy rock music) Then she found out serendipitously What follows relief (bluesy rock music) Just beyond the most precipitously A great barrier grief, yeah (bluesy rock music) She didn't always have her foot on the gas She had a little weakness for dancing, oh yeah And a monkey in the small of her back Holding all her humor for ransom But she knew that in the back of her mind She had a little safety release valve, oh yeah When she pulled it, man, she almost went blind But her eyes were wide open Then that feeling on the tip of her tongue Got stuck in her teeth (bluesy rock music) Searching for the wreck that hardship becomes On the great barrier grief (bluesy rock music) Then she found out serendipitously What follows relief (bluesy rock music) Just beyond the most ubiquitously Great barrier grief, yeah (bluesy rock music) Yeah, yeah, yeah (bluesy rock music) Yeah, yeah, yeah (bluesy rock music) Yeah, yeah, yeah (bluesy rock music) Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah (bluesy rock music) (audience cheering) - Thank you so much.
