About this show
This historical documentary honors Emmett Ashford, who broke racial barriers to become Major League Baseball’s first Black umpire after 15 years of perseverance through discrimination. Through rare archival footage, interviews, and his own words, the film explores segregation, the Civil Rights era, and the lasting legacy of courage that helped redefine opportunity in professional sports.
