Appraisal: Ithaca Double Dial Calendar Clock, ca. 1880
GUEST: Well, I brought in a calendar clock that was my parents'.
They bought it at an auction in New York a little over 67 years ago.
APPRAISER: It's a very sweet example of a Victorian double dial calendar clock that was made by the Ithaca Calendar Clock Company in Ithaca, New York.
So it has the, uh, standard clock dial with time and strike.
It also has this calendar mechanism in the, in the base, and these are very popular with collectors.
But the, the decorative elements on this clock are, are fantastic, and they still have their original silver details on the edges, which don't usually survive.
I would put a retail value on this clock of $3,500.
GUEST: Wow.
I'm sure it's a lot more than what they spent many years ago, so... APPRAISER: I'm, I'm sure.
(chuckling) GUEST: Yeah, that's awesome.
That's great, well, thank you.
