An Activist Fears For Her Family's Safety
I wasn't a big gun person before activism. I still am not a big gun person. It's more of a necessity. You know, I get death threats all the time. There's one death that sent shivers down my spine. My son is autistic, and one day someone tried to lure my son out of school. He called me and said, "Someone left a message that I'm supposed to walk home because I have a dentist appointment," and I said, "Stay there." That's--that's horrifying. I graduated from the FBI Civilian Academy, and I've logged 1,000 hours at the shooting range. I refuse to let anyone else be responsible for the protection of my family. I am the protector of my family. It's a shame that we have to carry guns everywhere, but the world wants to kill me.

And I'm not going out like a martyr.
