It didn’t occur to me until much later in life what an odd experience that was.
My very favorite teacher, in addition to Mrs. Harper, came through the radio.
Then we all stood there and watched our school burn down.
We didn't grow up in one grade, we grew up in the school.
If our lunch needed to be heated up we would heat it on the lip of the coal furnace in the basement.
There is no place for racism in our society. We must work together as a community to ensure we no longer teach, or tolerate it. Read the full statement.
