Following a national search, Wisconsin Public Television (WPT) leadership announced today that veteran WPT fundraising executive Jon Miskowski has been selected to lead the station beginning July 1 as the new Director of Television. The search followed the January retirement announcement of longtime Director James Steinbach, who has worked for WPT for more than 25 of the 40 years he has spent in public television.

A new season of independent films with Wisconsin connections begins this Friday with the statewide premiere of "Unforgettable" on Director's Cut from Wisconsin Public Television (WPT), Wisconsin's home for independent film.

With dazzling lights, advanced pyrotechnic effects, a flying bandleader and all of the favorite Badger songs, the University of Wisconsin Varsity Band returns to Wisconsin Public Television (WPT) 7 p.m. Saturday, May 2, for the annual spring concert. Under the direction of Michael Leckrone, this year's show, "There's No Place Like Home," celebrates the University of Wisconsin Band legacy with Badger spirit favorites, energetic medleys and Final Four memories.

Four of Wisconsin's most talented young musicians will perform in concert with the Madison Symphony Orchestra (MSO) as Wisconsin Public Television (WPT) and Wisconsin Public Radio (WPR) offer a live broadcast of Wisconsin Young Artists Compete: The Final Forte 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 25.

Guest panel includes Madison Police Chief Mike Koval, Boys & Girls Club of Dane County President and CEO Michael Johnson, YWCA Madison CEO Rachel Krinsky and Christ the Solid Rock Baptist Church Rev. Everett D. Mitchell
