As the University of Wisconsin-Madison celebrates its 175th anniversary, PBS Wisconsin reflects on the shared and individual impact of our work across the state — and beyond. Together, we celebrate the reach and impact of The Wisconsin Idea, both in our past and in our future.

The Wisconsin Idea is one of UW–Madison’s longest and deepest traditions, stating that the work of the University should enhance the lives of every person of the State of Wisconsin, as well as around the nation and the world.

Today, PBS Wisconsin remains committed to providing free access to information that allows Wisconsinites the opportunity to chart their own course, to make up their own minds and to shape their communities.
