Garry Denny is the Director of Programming for PBS Wisconsin, responsible for the acquisition, scheduling, and delivery of programming services for the station’s four 24/7 multicast channels: PBS Wisconsin, the Wisconsin Channel, Create, and PBS Kids 24/7. He leads a talented 4-person team who bring our programming acquisitions to life by assembling and maintaining detailed broadcast schedules and publishing them for accessibility across the state.

Denny’s department ensures that PBS Wisconsin’s broadcasts meet a breadth of viewer needs in the state. It is responsible for providing a “variety service” of beloved PBSKids programming, educational programming, entertainment, documentaries, and science & nature shows, among several other genres. In particular, Denny has positioned PBS Wisconsin to be the state’s home to independent film. He has been the Chair of the Board of ITVS, the independent television service for over 13 years.

Denny has served as the president of the Public Television Programmers Association, and on numerous PBS system-wide committees. In 2023, Denny was awarded the Jerry Trainor Mentorship Award from the public Television Programmers Association (PTPA). He has served PBS Wisconsin and the viewers of our state for over 36 years.
