New PBS Wisconsin documentary explores natural wonders of northern Wisconsin

From the deep pine forests and pristine lakes of Vilas County to the waterfalls and wetlands scattered across Wisconsin’s northern tier, PBS Wisconsin’s newest documentary Wisconsin’s Scenic Treasures: Northwoods is a panoramic compilation of our treasured “Up North” wonders. This stunning four-season exploration of the state’s northern forests, lakes, parks and natural areas takes the viewer to widely cherished locales as well as lesser-known secluded spots.
Wisconsin’s Scenic Treasures: Northwoods premieres 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28 on PBS Wisconsin. The program will also be available to stream online and on the free PBS App on all streaming devices and Smart TVs shortly after broadcast.
Filmed by PBS Wisconsin from the land, water and aloft in the air, the documentary showcases state parks, natural areas, wildlife areas and forests, many of them held in trust and managed by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) for Wisconsinites. Dozens of aerial panoramas and vibrant and detailed ground-level video create this memorable adventure, highlighting the striking visual and ecological diversity of the state’s northern natural landscapes and rich scenic heritage.
