A big beautiful voice from a small wonder…

Watch Great Performances “Jackie Evancho: Come Dream With Me in Concert” at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 6 on Wisconsin Public Television.
A couple years ago, a young girl stepped onto the stage of NBC’s America’s Got Talent. Jackie Evancho’s face shined in the bright spotlight of the national reality television show. She opened her mouth and out came the most surprising sound. This young girl — no older than 10 at the time — had a full, vibrant and beautifully mature voice that could rival singers in some of the world’s opera houses. The judges were amazed, television audiences raved and a star was born through a three-minute performance clip that flew across the Internet.
That is where public television stepped in and did what it does best. Producers recognized the talent Evancho held and knew audiences would love to hear more. But, commercial television doesn’t make the time to let a talent like Evancho shine for more than a song on a talk show or special.
With this great concert performance on Wisconsin Public Television, viewers are able to feel a full concert experience from Evancho — who has flourished under the tutelage of uber-producer David Foster. Tune in and be dazzled by Evancho’s charm, poise and — of course — amazing vocal talent.

Steve Atkinson says:
It wasn’t “a few years ago”. It a little over a year ago – August, 2010. And she was exactly 10.
