Two National Programs to Highlight Madison This February

As an editor and publicist here at Wisconsin Public Television, most of my time is spent working on Airwaves, WPT’s program guide, and updating the WPT.org online schedule with the latest programs. I love that I’m lucky enough to know what’s coming down the pike so that I can not only keep all of you informed, but also mark must-watch programs on my own calendar.
Recently, while updating the newest premieres, I was happy to see that Madison will be in the television spotlight this February, with coverage on both Start Up and Victory Garden’s EdibleFEAST.
First, at 11:28 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 1 on The Wisconsin Channel, Start Up‘s crew heads to Madison to meet with the creator of Fishidy, a smartphone app that’s helping fishermen become more successful. The all-new episode is aptly titled “A Fisheye View: Fishidy/Eye-Musment.”
Then, at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 3 on Create, Victory Garden’s EdibleFEAST visits the first Laotian restaurant in Madison (Lao Laan-Xang, one of my favorites), teaches viewers how to make an herb spiral with creative vegetable gardener Megan Cain, stops by the Underground Food Collective and visits the first organic cranberry farm. If the “Madison” episode isn’t jam-packed, I don’t know what is.
Obviously, there’s a lot to see in the area … but we already know that, right? We know that we’re lucky, but it’s not every day that some of our state’s gems get national attention. Mark your calendars and take some time to catch these Wisconsin-themed episodes!
