Circle of Mystery

Watch The Bletchley Circle at 9 p.m. Sunday, April 21 on Wisconsin Public Television.
Time to get the gang back together and solve a mystery that no one else is able to crack. Now I’m not sure if it’s just because it’s early in the morning, but for some reason this just reminds me of Scooby-Doo.
Unfortunately, the women of Bletchley don’t have a lovable Great Dane to help lead them down a path ripe with clues to stumble upon. But no need to worry – each friend comes to the table with a special skill set that makes them a force to be reckoned with. The question is – can they work fast enough to unravel the mystery and unmask the killer before it’s too late?
Serious question by the way, because I really don’t know how it ends. Sure I have my guesses and assumptions, but I’ve seen some pretty unexpected twists and less than savory endings over the years. All in all, I think these short form miniseries are starting to grow on me more and more. Having turned away from traditional TV over the years and relied more heavily on services like Netflix and Hulu, there’s just something comforting about knowing you’re going to get the story from start to finish as it was originally intended.
I think we can all agree it’s quite heart breaking to have a favorite show abruptly cancelled and have (few of) your questions answered as the producers frantically try to wrap the show up in the last three or four episodes. Or worse, have the show cancelled between seasons leaving you with nothing but a huge cliffhanger…
