As viewers of public television, we have all been fortunate to watch some of our country’s most amazing stories unfold through the camera lens of Ken Burns. His style is remarkable, unique and powerful. But, what drives him as a filmmaker to tell the stories in the way he does? Why not ask him directly?

In this short video, Burns describes his passion and process for storytelling — it could be as simple as figuring out how one plus one can equal three.
