Spirit Wagon
We drove this down to New Mexico with one team of mules. And we went 1,400 miles in two months. And the kids just play in here now. This is kind of a playhouse for them. I made windows so that they'd open up. Or I can close them down and just drive with lines through that slot. And then I built little tables for us here. We left in September. I wanted to get something that I could live in inside when I took the covered wagon across country. I had the kitchen and everything on the outside. So you had to stand out in the rain if it was raining. Here we were in snow storms and you make your pot of coffee or whatever you were doing right inside. This has got dishes and all that stuff in here. Plates. This is where we did all of our cooking. And we'd do the dishes and all that. Preparing the food up here. Richard sleep on this one and I slept up here. So we had our own little shelving so we could keep our goodies up there. This I raise up and then open that window and then I got a rear view mirror there and I'd just look out through there to watch the traffic behind me. That works pretty good. I have a little tiny solar panel on the roof and that charges up a battery that I've got here. And then I got the lights, flashing lights that I can put on whenever I needed to. And I got a light up here so I can have a light on the inside too. Did you have to travel primarily back roads? Everything you could imagine. When you get out west there's no back roads to go on necessarily. So we ended up having to take a lot of busy roads. Lot of semis and stuff on them. So it was harrowing at times. How did the mules handle that? It's called making do with whatever you got, you know. Yah, we had so many stories. It was so fun.
