It represents Cory's vision of a paranormal investigative team. >> Well, actually I was interested in the paranormal/spirits/whatever you want to call them since I was a young kid, a very young kid. >> He says a near-fatal accident as a teenager gave him extra feelings, extra emotions. And turned an interest a few years ago into a passion. >> Finally, my wife got sick of me talking about it, so she said you need to find some friends. And that's how S.O.S. started. >> Right now, answers to me are finding anything that's paranormal. >> Caren Spredemann is one of the friends Cory found. >> This is a full-spectrum camera. It gets in the range that the normal eye cannot see. >> She will gladly investigate with him tonight at the old Kewaunee County jail in northeast Wisconsin. >> Something touched me once and my first reaction was to say, can you do that again? Again, I think it's funny. >> She too has more serious questions. >> For the last 25 years, I've thought about it and wondered why are there still people here? Why are there things around? Is everybody here, or is it just some, or what's the reason? So, I have my own questions, and that's kind of what got me into it at the start, I guess. One little thing gets you hooked. >> I will take this meal cup-- >> They were both hooked well before they heard the voice of Emma Lutien during an earlier investigation here. >> Yeah, she's very much still a part of that building, structure. >> In 1926, Emma Lutien became the second female sheriff in Wisconsin history when her husband died in a car crash. She oversaw the jail for a couple of years and raised her family in the upper floor for another year before willingly leaving office. >> A lot of people want to know what's after life, if there is after life. Now, clearly there are some people who stick around. Thus is why we do what we do in ghost hunting. >> Before we go any further, Caren and Cory understand what you may be thinking. And quite frankly, they embrace it. >> I think it's super healthy to be a skeptic because coming into this situation or any situation, you have to be a skeptic before you can be a believer. >> My main goal is to try to get as many people out there to see this, skeptic or believer. Once they get the chance to see it, I hope that they can maybe believe. >> It's really hard to believe that this is real. As much as we try to prove it on our evidence and our audio equipment and all the other stuff, there are still going to be people who say you could have programmed that, or you could have, you know, set it up. >> After the cameras, the recorders and the monitors are set up, the investigation can begin. >> Dear lord, please watch over us tonight as we conduct this investigation at the Kewaunee Jail Museum. >> They've set up their equipment, heat monitors, special flashlights, audio recorders to capture evidence of paranormal activity. >> I don't know what that was. >> Watching the camera monitors closely is Tom Schuller who runs the Kewaunee Jail Museum. >> Just like a lot of old buildings, there's memories and there's energy. >> Those memories, that energy is why he asked his board to let S.O.S. investigate the building. >> We're sort of staking our reputation on this. I don't want people to all of the sudden say, they're a bunch of lunatics over there because they believe that the place is haunted. >> Do something to get our attention. You want to check the room? >> So far, he says, the reaction's been positive. Regardless, he knows what he feels in this building. >> There is definitely something that stayed here. >> Who's here with us? >> We're not quite sure what. We're not quite sure who. >> We got a couple maybe possible potential knocks in here. >> Caren and Cory are now inside the jail part of the building, continuing to poke and prod the paranormal. >> It's all right, you can come out. Don't be afraid of us. >> Nobody here will hurt you. >> When they later checked their audio recorders, this is what they heard. >> I hate you. >> Behind their laughter, they say, they hear a voice saying, I hate you. Here it is again. >> I hate you. >> After a few hours, this investigation is complete. >> Well, it was a slower night. I don't think there was a lot of stuff that went on. >> These spirit seekers still remain believers. And this investigation has only reinforced the answer to maybe the most basic of questions. >> It can be completely silent the whole night. I'm saying we could investigate six, seven hours-- >> And it's still a good day for me. >> It is an awesome day.
