Front Porch Project
Through the grapevine, I heard that that there were families struggling here in our town and that food was a massive need. COVID-19 had affected her business and a lot of different genres of her sessions had shut down except for Front Porch Sessions. Right there, I was like, "Oh, that's it." They get a product and then to receive the product, I would just say, "You have to donate a minimum of $10 to food pantry." I honestly thought maybe 15 families were gonna sign up and so when I saw 80, I was kinda nervous. But also really excited 'cause that meant that I could really actually make a pretty big impact on the community. Some people did full quarantine outfits. Some people came out and had wine bottles with them. But then some, I could tell there was a story behind it. My husband was gone for over a month because he had three or four cases at his place of employment. It is such a positive picture to look at in such a chaotic time in our lives. Dad was quarantined to keep us safe. I just wanted to be able to tell my youngest daughter Gracie, "You're only three months old but this is what we did all day." My phone was like, ding, ding, da-ding, ding. Everybody was donating at once and not just $10, but $20, $50, $100, $150. Sometimes they weren't even from people that got a photograph. Like these were from community members outside of Reedsburg that just wanted to help that had heard about it. I couldn't thank Lauren enough for what she has done for a ton of families in our community. I'm very proud to be a part of this town. It was really awesome.
