More than one out of 14 Wisconsin high school students has tried to kill themselves, according to data from the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction. This episode of Teen Connection will offer an open forum for Wisconsin teens to talk about suicide. On the program, a panel of teens and adult expert counselors will identify the warning signs of suicide and how to respond to them. The program will highlight resources available to anyone considering suicide.

Joining the program to answer questions about suicide are Lisa Anderson of Outagamie County Health and Human Services, Jennifer Seefeldt of Community for Hope of the Fox Cities, Jesse Heffernen of Harmony Café and Chris Wardlow, a substance abuse prevention specialist at Catalpa Health.

Anyone who is contemplating suicide or has lost someone to suicide may call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 800-273-TALK (8255). Additional local counseling services can be found at PreventSuicideWI.org.
