On this edition of Teen Connection, a panel of teens and adult experts will discuss adolescent pregnancy and clarify myths and facts about adoption.
During the live call-in program, staff from the Adolescent Parenting Coalition will be on hand to answer questions about pregnancy and adoption solutions.
Angie Flannery, assistant director of the Community Adoption Center in Green Bay, will present facts about adolescents and adoption. Flannery will also convey the importance of using positive adoption language to stop the spread of adoption misconceptions and to educate others about adoption solutions.
Also on the program will be Liz, a birthmother who created an adoption plan for her son when she was 20. She will describe her decision-making process that led to an open adoption and will detail her ongoing relationship with the parents she selected for her son. The child’s parents will also appear.
