Pavlo: Live in Santorini
(audience applauding) (audience cheering) (audience cheering) PAVLO: Welcome to Santorini.
The most beautiful island in the world.
I've always said if I could put images to my music, this is what the Pavlo sound would look like.
The Greek spirit is alive and well and I can describe it in one word unique to the Greek language.
Filotimo.
(audience applauding) (audience applauding) (audience cheering) PAVLO: Everyone comes to Santorini for the sunset, and indeed it is very beautiful.
But there's a little hidden secret here on the island, the sunrise, just as spectacular.
In my brand new song "Santorini Sunrise," I feature the best at what she does on the accordion, Zoe Tiganouria.
(audience applauding) (audience cheering) PAVLO: I've been blessed with two beautiful daughters.
Making memories with them is the most important thing in the world for me.
This next song is about stealing a piece of time to make memories with the people you love.
The song "Make a Memory" has profound meaning to me, it is even more special to have one of the world's greatest tenors, here to sing it.
Daniel Emmet.
Hello again, it's you and me Kinda always like it used to be Sippin' wine, killin' time Trying to solve life's mysteries How's your life, it's been a while God, it's good to see you smile I see you reaching for your keys Looking for a reason not to leave If you don't know if you should stay And you don't say what's on your mind Baby just breathe There's no where else tonight we should be You wanna make a memory I dug up this old photograph Look at all that hair we had It's bittersweet to hear you laugh Your phone is ringin' I don't wanna ask If you go now, I'll understand But if you stay, hey, I've gotta plan You wanna make a memory You wanna steal a piece of time You can sing the melody to me And I can write a couple lines You wanna make a memory You wanna make a memory (audience cheering) You wanna steal a piece of time You can sing the melody to me And I can write a couple lines You wanna make a memory (audience applauding) PAVLO: Daniel Emmet.
(audience applauding) (audience clapping) (audience applauding) PAVLO: Grenville Pinto!
(audience applauding) PAVLO: My next special guest is a PBS star.
Our mutual love for the guitar is what brought us together.
Here is an arrangement of a popular television song, "My Life is Going On."
It is an absolute pleasure to share the stage with the amazing Benise.
PAVLO: Growing up, my mother and father always had the music on.
And I grew up listening to some great classics.
One of them, a beautiful song called "Love Story."
Perhaps the most romantic song ever written.
And I'm in the most romantic island in the world.
And I have one of the up and coming tenors to join me on stage, Mr. Daniel Emmet.
Where do I begin To tell the story of how great a love can be The sweet love story that is older than the sea The simple truth about the love she brings to me Where do I start With her first hello She gave new meaning to this empty world of mine She came into my life and made the living fine There'd never be another love, another time She fills my heart Que grande es sentir mi corazn Latir as, henchido de emocin Poder or tu dulce voz Besarte con pasin y acariciarte Y no perder ni un solo instante Y ser para ti un gran amor Que bonito es que ests conmigo Cuando empieza amanecer Poder contar las horas dulces de este amor Que ha conseguido noche y da estremecer Mi corazn Que bonito es que ests conmigo Cuando empieza amanecer Poder contar las horas dulces de este amor Que ha conseguido noche y da estremecer Mi corazn (Daniel humming) (audience applauding) PAVLO: Daniel Emmet.
(audience applauding) PAVLO: The idea of filming a special on the isle of Santorini began as a wild fantasy 'cause no one had ever done it before.
It is a privilege to be the first artist in history to bring a Santorini concert to the screen.
As the saying goes, "If I am dreaming, don't wake me."

Santorini, Greece, welcomes all cultures from all over the world.
One of them, the Armenian culture, a beautiful storied culture.
This next song is a medley of classic Armenian folk songs.

And aside from his height and his beautiful flowing hair, Benise and I have a lot in common.
The love for the guitar.
We actually met in a cafe over a cup of cortado.
Here is the first song we ever wrote together bearing the same name, "Cortado."
(audience applauding) PAVLO: Benise on guitar.
(audience applauding) "Tango to Evora" was written by a Canadian superstar, Loreena McKennitt.
Loreena was generous enough to invite me to perform this song with her at the storied Acropolis, in Athens.
I took great care to arrange this song including old world and new world instruments including the ancient lyra.
Of course I had to use Haris Alexiou's Greek lyrics and here to sing it, the amazing Eva Manta.

(audience applauding) PAVLO: My guitar has been my passport to the world.
I consider myself incredibly lucky.
I never, ever take it for granted when someone stops and takes the time listen to my music.
And for that, I am forever indebted.
This is a song I wrote called "Efharisto" which simply means in Greek, thank you.
