About this show
Hosted by educator Ruth Mork — "Wisconsin’s first TV teacher" — this WHA-TV series aired in the 1950s for the Wisconsin School of the Air. Designed for young children, the program used music, stories, and lively, guided lessons to explore early learning topics.
'Kindergarten' is one of PBS Wisconsin's — known then as WHA-TV — earliest educational children's television programs of the 1950s. Originally recorded on 16mm film — part of WHA's 'School of the Air' — it has been preserved, digitized and rendered accessible online thanks to a generous donation from Dr. Henry Anderson.
