Hello, Melbourne!
[audience cheering] This is like a dream, really, for me to be singing here in Melbourne with my favorite singer in the world.
How lucky am I?
And... -[cheering continues] -[laughs] I think this song really explains it best.
It's magic.
-[audience cheers] -[singing "Magic"] Come take my hand You should know me I've always been In your mind You know I will be kind I'll be guiding you Building your dream Has to start now There's no other Road to take You won't make a mistake I'll be guiding you You have to believe We are magic Nothing can stand In our way You have to believe We are magic Don't let your aim Ever stray And if All your hopes survive Destiny will arrive I'll bring All your dreams alive For you I'll bring All your dreams alive For you From where I stand We are home free The planets align so rare There's promise in the air And I'm guiding you Through every turn I'll be near you I'll come anytime you call I'll catch you When you fall I'll be guiding you You have to believe We are magic Nothing can stand In our way You have to believe We are magic Don't let your aim Ever stray And if All your hopes survive Destiny will arrive I'll bring All your dreams alive For you I'll bring All your dreams alive For you Oh You have to believe We are magic Nothing can stand In our way You have to believe We are magic Don't let your aim Ever stray And if All your hopes survive Destiny will arrive I'll bring All your dreams alive For you I'll bring All your dreams alive For you [audience cheering] Thank you so much.
Well, I'm really proud because John Farrar, who's a Melbourne boy, wrote that last song and he wrote this next song.
So, we got an Aussie contingency going in this show in Melbourne.
So here's another one of his songs, "Have You Never Been Mellow?"
from way back then.
[singing "Have You Never Been Mellow?"]
Ooh, ooh, ooh There was a time when I was In a hurry as you are I was like you There was a day when I just Had to tell My point of view I was like you Now I don't mean to Make you frown No I just want you To slow down Have you never been mellow?
Have you never tried To find a comfort From inside you?
Have you never been happy Just to hear your song?
Have you never let Someone else Be strong?
Running around as you do With your head up In the clouds I was like you Never had time to lay back Kick your shoes off, Close your eyes I was like you Now you're not Hard to understand [backup singers] Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh You need someone To take your hand Have you never been mellow?
Have you never tried To find a comfort From inside you?
Have you never been happy Just to hear your song?
Have you never let Someone else Be strong?
Ooh, ooh Ooh, ooh, ooh [audience cheering] Thank you so much.
I'm going to sing a song now from a movie musical I made a really long time ago.
[audience shouting] Not that one!
[all laugh] Not yet, anyway.
This song was written by Jeff Lynne and it was a movie that I danced with Gene Kelly.
-Do you remember that?
-[audience] Yeah!
-What was that called?
-[audience shouting] Yes, you got it!
[woman in audience shouts] [singing "Xanadu"] A place Where nobody dared to go The love That we came to know They call it Xanadu [backup singers] It takes your breath And leaves you blind And now Open your eyes and see What we have made is real We are in Xanadu [backup singers] A dream of it We offer you A million lights Are dancing And there you are A shooting star An everlasting world And you're here with me Eternally Xanadu Xanadu Now we are here - In Xanadu - Xanadu Xanadu Xanadu Now we are here - In Xanadu - Xanadu Xanadu Your neon lights will shine For you Xanadu The love The echoes of long ago You needed The world to know They are in Xanadu The dream that came through A million years That lived on Through all the tears It came to Xanadu [backup singers] The dream you dream Well it'll come to you A million lights are dancing And there you are A shooting star An everlasting world And you're here with me Eternally Xanadu Xanadu Now we are here - In Xanadu - Xanadu Xanadu Xanadu Now we are here - In Xanadu - Xanadu Now that I'm here Now that you're near In Xanadu Now that I'm here Now that you're near In Xanadu Xanadu [audience cheering] Thank you so much.
[piano music playing] It's a very special song for me.
[singing "I Honestly Love You"] Maybe I hang around here A little more than I should We both know I've got Somewhere else to go But I've got something To tell you That I never thought I would But I believe You really ought to know I love you I honestly love you You don't have to answer I see it in your eyes Maybe it was better Left unsaid But this is pure and simple And you must realize That it's coming From my heart And not my head I love you I honestly love you I'm not trying to Make you feel uncomfortable I'm not trying to Make you anything at all But this feeling Doesn't come along every day And you shouldn't Blow the chance When you've got The chance to say I love you I love you.
I honestly love you If we both were born In another place and time This moment Might be ending in a kiss But there you are With yours And here I am with mine So I guess We'll just be leaving it Like this I love you I honestly love you I honestly love you [audience cheering] Thank you.
[John] How beautiful is that song?
That is a beautiful song.
That's a Peter Allen song.
And I know that we both love Peter Allen so much.
What's not to love about Peter?
One of the greatest Australians songwriters of all time.
-He is.
Was.
-Absolutely.
-You recorded a few of his songs.
-I did.
-Yeah.
-And this one which I really love... -excuse me... -One of my absolute favorites.
Back into the gin?
Yeah, she's into the gin tonight.
[laughing] Cheers.
-She's a bit towy.
-You said you'd never tell.
[both laugh] -[man in audience shouts] -Let's do this.
I love this song.
All right.
After you, Chong.
[singing "Tenterfield Saddler"] The late George Woolnough Worked on High Street And lived on manors Fifty-two years he sat On his veranda And made his saddles And if you had questions About sheep Or lovers or dogs You just ask the saddler He lived without sin They're building a library For him [together] Time is a traveler Tenterfield Saddler Turn your head Ride again Jackaroo Think I see kangaroo Up ahead The son of George Woolnough Went off and got married And had a war baby But something was wrong And it's easier to drink Than go crazy [together] And if there were questions About why The end was so sad Well George had no answers About why his son Ever have need of a gun Time is a traveler Tenterfield Saddler Turn your head Ride again Jackaroo I think I see kangaroo Up ahead The grandson of George Has been all around The world And lives In no special place Changed his last name And he married a girl With an interesting face [together] He'd almost Forgotten them both Because in this life That he leads There's nowhere for George And his library Or the son with his gun [together] To belong Except in this song Time is a traveler Tenterfield Saddler Turn your head Ride again Jackaroo I think I see kangaroo Up ahead - Ooh yeah - Oh Time is a meddler Tenterfield saddler Make your bed Fly away cockatoo Down on the ground Emu up ahead Ooh Time is a tale teller Tenterfield saddler Turn your head Ride again Jackaroo I think I see kangaroo Up ahead [audience cheering] [John] Olivia.
Don't hurry.
Don't hurry.
Whoa!
Just a second.
[all laugh] So, I would like, ladies and gentlemen, if you would please, to ask you to thank this amazing orchestra and this amazing band and these amazing singers.
Please.
[audience cheering] Hip-hip-o-rock!
That's as good as it gets.
This next song was written by Eric McCusker from, uh, from Mondo Rock.
And it's called "No One Comes Close."
[audience cheering] [singing "No One Comes Close"] You gave me your cool hand Lukewarm reception It's been such a long time Still there on the platform But what can An old flame do But talk about Just what's new Things that have happened Since you went away - No one - Nobody baby No one comes close Someone maybe Will come my way Until that day No one comes close to you I see you In all those up market movies You talk on the talk shows I stare at the TV Now what can An old friend say I know you don't Feel this way I'm taking this chance today To let you know - No one - Nobody baby No one comes close Someone maybe Will come my way Until that day No one comes close to you No one comes close Of all the lovers I've ever known You stand alone No one comes close to you Oh I'm going back To my friend One on whom I can depend I just smile at her And pretend That I'm free of you Free of you Free of you God knows You're free of me - No one - Nobody nobody Nobody no one No one comes close Someone maybe Will come my way - Until that day - Until that day No one comes close to you No one comes close Of all the lovers I've ever known You stand alone No one comes close to you No one comes close Someone maybe Will come my way - Until that day - Until that day No one comes close to you No one comes close Of all the lovers I've ever known You stand alone No one comes close to you No one comes close Someone maybe Will come my way Until that day No one comes close to you [audience cheering] Oh, what a great audience!
Wow!
Thank you very much.
I tell you what, I love working in this venue.
It's just a great place to be in.
The staff and the crew here, aren't they nice people when they deal with everyone?
Huh?
They're really good.
A great bunch of people and it's just a lovely venue to work in.
A bit nervous, a bit towy.
And, you know, I got new trousers on.
And, now, now, they're about $80... And I think $60 of them found their way in you know, a fairly uncomfortable spot, frankly.
[audience laughs] -Got a bit caught in my sock down here somewhere.
-[woman] Take it off, then!
Uh, it's all right.
This... [laughs] This next song was written by Kiki Dee.
Remember Kiki Dee?
[audience shouts] And, uh, I can't remember what album it's from.
I have enough trouble with the words.
[audience laughs] This one's called "Love To Shine."
[audience cheers] Featuring Craig Newman on the bass guitar.
[singing "Love To Shine"] [backup singers] Ooh Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh You have no cause To doubt what you see Close your eyes And set your feelings free Who has the right To say that you're wrong?
Open your heart And let our love grow strong I want our love To shine down on me Shining down from up above - You are part of me - Part of me When I fix my sights And I walk without fear The road may be dark But my direction is clear Like a neon sign In a distant town I watch you shine When all the lights go down Come on.
I want our love To shine down on me Shining down Shining down from up above - You are part of me - Part of me I want our love to shine Oh, I want Our love to shine Oh, hey [backup singers] Ooh Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh People too scared To say what they mean Gonna wash their hands To keep Their conscience clean In search of a flame That some call desire They fly into the light And right back into the fire I want our love To shine down on me Shining down from up above - You are part of me - Part of me I want our love to shine - I want our love - I want your love to shine - To shine down on me -Down on me - Shining down from up above - Shining down from up above - You are part of me - You are a part of me I want our love to shine - I want our love - I want your love to shine - To shine down on me - On me - Shining down from up above - Shining down oh You are part of me Ooh [audience cheering] [audience whistling] Whoo hoo!
Oh, I feel a bit better now.
[audience shouting] -[audience laughs] -Oh, no, I'm rooted.
-[audience laughs] -No!
No, no, no, to the spot.
Ah!
Rooted to the spot.
[audience shouting] Can you see my bald patch when I do that?
[audience laughs] Shh!
Stop that!
Oh, good evening.
[audience laughing] Got me.
Thank you.
That was very exciting.
Thank you.
Oh, thank you.
That's really very nice.
I'd kiss you back, but I'll...
I reckon me back would go out if I got down that far.
[audience laughs] And, really, maybe I'll get you later.
[audience laughs] Right, listen.
[laughs] I'm not dead yet.
[audience laughs] This is the title track of, uh...
I know I've used this gag before, but it always works.
[audience laughs] Title track of The Age of Reason album.
-[audience cheers] -And it's called, uh, "Age of Reason."
[audience cheering] Ha!
[singing "Age of Reason"] [audience clapping in rhythm] [John] Come on!
From the day That we were born We've been heading Down a track Sometimes it's made For good Sometimes for bad But if we look behind us There's a wave coming down To create the age of reason Here we go.
[backup singers] What about the world What about the world Around us - What about the world - What about the age [John] How can we fail to see - What about the age?
- Ah, ah And now that our fathers Have gone And we've been left To carry on What about The age of reason?
So why can't we be still Why can't we Love each other?
Is kindness An ancient skill Buried by our blindness?
And if we look behind us There's a wind coming in [backup singers] Ooh To create The age of reason What about the world What about the world Around us?
- What about the world?
-[John] Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh How can we fail to see?
- What about the world?
- Ah, ah And now that our fathers Have gone And we've been left To carry on What about The age of reason?
The Chongster on the keyboards, folks.
Oh, yeah!
[backup singers] Ooh Chong Lim, if you would, please.
[audience cheering] [John] Fantastic!
If we consider carefully The options put before us So much wisdom so much love So much waiting for us And if we look ahead There's the sun And the seasons And another, yeah And another age of reason What about the world?
What about the world Around us?
- What about the world?
- What about the age?
How can we fail to see?
- What about the age?
- Ah, ah And now that our fathers Have gone And we've been left To carry on What about The age of reason?
What about the world?
What about the world Around us?
- What about the world?
- What about the age?
How can we fail to see?
- What about the age?
- Ah, ah And now that our fathers Have gone And we've been left To carry on What about the age?
What about the world Around us?
- What about the world?
- Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh How can we fail to see?
- What about the age?
- Ah, ah And now that our fathers Have gone And we've been left To carry on What about the age?
What about the age?
What about The age of reason?
Of reason [audience cheering] Now, if you know the words to this next one, you know, please, don't join in, 'cause you're gonna ruin it.
-We've been... -[audience laughing] Works every time.
-Uh... -[audience shouting] This one's called "That's Freedom."
[singing "That's Freedom"] Yeah, hey I don't know What you want from me Or what you think A love ought to be I want something That's open and strong As the country This road's moving on From the mountain To the valley From the ocean to the alley From the highway To the river One emotion to deliver One heart One way One love To share but not to chain That's freedom It's a song of the heart A race in the wind A light in the dark That's freedom It's a reason to live And after the rain Rekindle the spark Let freedom ring I don't know Why it takes so long To remember What the world's Doing wrong Never wanted To shove my plan on another Who can't understand All I want is a fast lane To where the road Across this plain Won't take you I want something You understand To make us stand proud As nothing else can That's freedom It's a song of the heart A race in the wind A light in the dark That's freedom It's a reason to live And after the rain Rekindle the spark That's freedom It's a measure of trust When love is alive It's tender and tough That's freedom It's all love is about This opening up And letting it out Let freedom ring - From the mountain - From the mountain - To the valley - To the valley - From the ocean - From the ocean - To the alley - To the alley - From the highway - From the highway - To the river - To the river One emotion to deliver One heart One way One love To share but not to chain That's freedom It's a song of the heart A race in the wind A light in the dark That's freedom It's a reason to live And after the rain Rekindle the spark That's freedom It's a measure of trust When love is alive It's tender and tough That's freedom It's all love is about This opening up And letting it out Let freedom ring Whoa-oh, oh That's freedom Whoa-oh, oh, oh Freedom Freedom [John] Oh, oh, whoa One more.
That's freedom [John] Whoo!
-[audience cheering] -[John] Oh, yeah!
Put your hands up for this absolutely amazing band again, please.
Geez!
Thank you.
Wow!
Oh, no, I really am...
I'm gonna have just a little bit of orange juice here.
And if you believe that, I got this little bit of land in city for sale.
[audience laughing] Oh, that's good.
Um, Olivia... has always been someone that I've admired.
Mostly from afar.
[audience laughs] But we've been friends for a very long time.
It was just never close, close enough, you know.
Way back then, it was never close enough.
[audience laughs] But, uh, we're close enough now.
Follow me, son, follow me.
Thataboy.
So... [audience laughs] [laughs] Or look, actually, you should leave it off.
I look better in the dark.
-[audience shouting] -But... -[audience whistling] -I do some of my best work in the dark, frankly.
[audience screaming] I'm hoping tonight.
[audience laughs] Anyway, uh, I just love this song.
I think it's a beautiful song.
And to get to, to sing it with this beautiful creature that's about to grace this stage again, is gonna be an absolute joy.
After you, Chong.
[singing "Suddenly"] She walks in I'm suddenly a hero I'm taken in My hopes begin to rise Look at me Can't you tell I'd be so thrilled To see the message In your eyes You make it seem I'm so close to my dream And then suddenly It's all there Suddenly the wheels Are in motion And I I'm ready to sail any ocean Suddenly I don't need The answers 'Cause I I'm ready to take All my chances With you How can I feel You're all that matters I'd rely on Anything you say I'll take care That no illusions shatter If you dare to say What you should say You make it seem I'm so close to my dream And then suddenly It's all there Suddenly the wheels Are in motion And I I'm ready to sail any ocean Suddenly I don't need The answers 'Cause I I'm ready to take All my chances With you Why do I feel so alive When you're near There's no way Any hurt can get through Oh, I'm longing to spend Every moment of the day With you With you Suddenly the wheels Are in motion And I I'm ready to sail any ocean Suddenly I don't need The answers 'Cause I I'm ready to take All my chances With you Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh [audience cheering] [both chuckle] Well...
I tell you, looking into those eyes is just fantastic.
I kept forgetting the words.
-[audience laughs] -Um... -It's another one of our songs, John.
-You're a bit... You're a bit, you know, disconcerting.
You're a bit... You know, wh-ah and stuff.
-Nothing wrong with that.
-Awfully nice of you to say.
Awfully nice of you to say.
-That song is written by John Farrar, too.
-I know.
Melbourne boy.
Such a gorgeous song.
I love that song.
Well, the la...
The last time we worked together, uh, we didn't sing that song.
No, we didn't.
Actually we sang... Actually, we sang it at the Olympics.
But last year, John was kind enough to uh, sing at my hospital, The Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness Hospital.
-Yeah, I did it for nothing.
-He sang... For nothing.
-Free.
Oh, no, it's just... -[cheering and applause] You know, something I wanted to do for free, for nothing.
-That is good... No, it's all right.
-But you know, you helped a lot, you helped a lot of people.
It helps an amazing amount of people.
Who are going through cancer.
So thank you.
Wasn't he great to do that?
-Thank you John.
-[audience applauding] No, no, what you do is amazing.
But as Olivia said, we, uh, we performed together at the Olympic games and, and, we sang the, the, the theme song for the games.
That was, that was the highlight.
One of the highlights of my career was singing with you at the Olympics.
-It was... Well, it's... -It was amazing!
It was one of each for me.
It was a highlight and a lowlight.
Because during the rehearsal, I dropped her.
[audience exclaims] I actually... And she was in this beautiful, long, sparkly-arkly glown.
-Gown.
-[audience laughs] Glown.
Glown.
She was in a glown.
And, uh, we were walking through the, walking through the uh, the crowd of volunteers that assists us the day before and this, this young lady waved at me and I thought, "Whoa, I'll just go over and say hello to her," and let go of Olivia and she went down like a sparkly-arkly bag of potatoes.
[audience laughs] -I picked her up.
Yeah, I-- -You've cleared that up, haven't you?
[laughs] Anyway, this is the song.
I promise not to drop you.
[laughing] Okay.]
[laughing] After you, Chong.
-I'm getting over here.
I'm getting over here this time.
-I'll go, this side.
[singing "Dare To Dream"] I am my own believer In my heart the reason I will follow The light from within I'm not afraid of weakness I'm gonna taste The sweetness Of the power not to give in Oh, I will see it through I believe This is my moment of truth Dare to dream, dare to fly Dare to be the heir The chosen one To touch the sky Dare to reach Dare to rise Find the strength To set my spirit free Dare to dream I will go the distance Embrace resistance I will lay my soul On the line When the wait is over And the hunger has spoken If I give my all I will shine Oh I will see it through I believe This is my moment of truth Dare to dream, dare to fly Dare to be the heir The chosen one To touch the sky Dare to reach Dare to rise Find the strength To set my spirit free Dare to dream Oh, oh And my heart will shine Like the sun A million voices Together as one [backup singers] I believe, I believe I believe I believe Dare to dream Dare to fly Dare to be the heir The chosen one To touch the sky Dare to reach Dare to rise Find the strength To set my spirit free Dare to dream, dare to fly Dare to be the heir The chosen one To touch the sky Dare to reach Dare to rise [John] Find the strength To set my spirit free [Olivia] Find the strength To set my spirit free - Dare to dream - Dare to dream Dare to fly Dare to be the heir The chosen one To touch the sky Dare to reach Dare to rise [John] Find the strength To set my spirit free [Olivia] Find the strength To set my spirit free [John] Find the strength To do what I believe I believe Dare to dream Dare to dream Ooh, yeah, yeah Dare to dream [cheering and applause] [playing "Somewhere Over The Rainbow"] Somewhere Over the rainbow Way up high There's a land That I've heard of Once in a lullaby Somewhere Over the rainbow Skies are blue And the dreams That you dare to dream Really do come true Someday I'll wish Upon a star And wake up Where the clouds Are far behind me [together] Where troubles melt Like lemon drops Away above the chimney tops That's where you'll find me Somewhere [together] Over the rainbow Blue birds fly And birds fly Over the rainbow Why oh why can't I?
If happy Little bluebirds fly Beyond the rainbow Why, oh why Can't I?
[cheering and applauding] [John] Thank you.
You know, it's funny, I...
I love, I love singing these duets with, with Olivia.
It's a lot of fun.
Yeah?
I like... Eh?
Eh?
[audience cheers] [laughing] I don't!
Oh, now, go on.
No... [audience screams] Actually, I... We'll get into that.
I'll tell you a story about that later.
But this next song is, um, a song I've never ever sung a duet...
Uh, of this song before.
Because it, it, uh, Well, never got a chance really.
[audience chuckles] But now, uh, I-I'm going to... sing it as... a song... with Olivia.
And, uh, Chongy, if you will, uh, put a bit of light up there on Brett Garsed uh, top of the stage there, please?
[cheering and applauding] [singing "Burn For You"] [playing guitar] Got myself into Some trouble tonight Guess I'm just feeling blue It's been so long Since I've seen your face This distance between Me and you That voice you showed me Is not the one that I know I must be strong now In what I do Mm, don't hang up again There's nothing else I know how to do But I burn for you What am I gonna do I burn for you [together] I guess it feels Like you're always alone And I feel that way too It's so hard To explain to you Please understand what I do And I burn for you What am I gonna do I burn for you Oh, I burn for you Took my trouble To a bar tonight For another point of view But there's nothing new I'm missing you [cheering and applause] [together] And I burn for you What am I gonna do?
I burn for you Oh, I burn for you I burn for you What am I gonna do?
- I burn for you - I burn for you - I burn for you - I burn for you [together] What am I gonna do?
I burn for you Oh, I burn for you I burn for You [cheering and applause] Brett Garsed, please.
Yeah.
[cheering continues] Oh, yeah!
Thank you.
I... Gee, it's fun singing that song with Olivia, it's beautiful.
This next song is a mishmash of two of my favorite songs of all time.
If you know the words, please, please do join in.
Now have a listen to this, Chong and the orchestra.
Go ahead, boys.

-Oh!
[laughs] Oh, funny.
He's so much fun.
Well, he did leave and now I'm sad he's left.
'Cause that's typical of a woman, right?
We ask them to go, and then they go, and you're sad.
-So... -[all laugh] which kind of leads me into this next song.
because, um...
Many years ago, I was...
I started out in Melbourne and I was very young, I was 15.
[cheering and applause] And I sang with my friend, Pat Carroll, who a lot of you will know, who was on television.
And we teamed up in England and worked in a lot of nightclubs around England.
So, I'd like to take you to a nightclub in London in the '60s, when we started out.
It's sad 'cause John's left.
[singing "Cry Me A River"] Now you say you're lonely You cried The whole night through Well you can cry me a river Cry me a river I cried a river over you Now you say you're sorry For being so untrue Well you can cry me a river Cry me a river I cried a river over you You drove me Nearly drove me Out of my head While you never shed a tear Remember I remember all that you said Told me love was Too plebeian Told me you were Through with me And now Now you say you love me Well just to prove you do Come on and cry me a river Cry me a river I cried a river over you You drove me Nearly drove me Out of my head While you never shed a tear Remember I remember all that you said Told me love was Too plebeian Told me you were Through with me And no Now you say you love me Well just to prove you do Come on and cry me a river Cry me a river I cried a river over you I cried A river over you I cried I cried I cried a river over you [vocalizing] Cried me a river over you [vocalizing] [cheering and applause] Thank you, wonderful orchestra.
Thank you.
Aren't they gorgeous.
So beautiful to have these strings behind me.
Well, I'm going to do a song now that, it's a really old one that I hope you remember.
And uh, hope I remember too.
-So, here we go.
-[women screaming] [sticks clicking] [singing "A Little More Love"] Night Is dragging her feet I wait Alone in the heat I know Know that you'll Have your way Do you have to go home No's a word I can't say But it gets me nowhere to tell you no And it gets me nowhere To make you go [backup singers] Will a little more love make you start depending?
Will a little more love bring a happy ending?
Will a little more love Make it right?
Will a little more love Make it right?
- Where -[backup singers] Where Where did my innocence go?
- How -[backup singers] How How was a young girl To know?
I'm trapped trapped in the spell Of your eyes In the warmth of your arms In the web of your lies But it gets me nowhere To tell you no And it gets me nowhere To make you go Will a little more love make you start depending?
Will a little more love Bring us a happy ending?
Will a little more love Make it right?
Will a little more love Make it right?
But it gets me nowhere And it gets me nowhere To tell you no And it gets me nowhere To make you go Will a little more love Make you start depending?
Will a little more love Bring us a happy ending?
Will a little more love Make it right?
Oh-yeah-yeah Will a little more love Make it right?
But it gets me nowhere [audience cheering] Thank you, Brent.
That was really great.
Cheers!
Cheers!
Well, I'm going to change jackets right now.
It might give you a clue as to what I'm about to do.
[audience cheering] Okay, and somewhere I have this... stand.
Okay, it's a little small, but I can, I can always crouch down.
Now, here we go.
[laughing] Here we go.
This song is another John Farrar song.

I'm hopelessly devoted To you But now there's nowhere To hide Since you pushed My love aside I'm out of my head Hopelessly devoted to you Hopelessly devoted to you Hopelessly devoted to you My head is saying Fool forget him My heart is saying Don't let go Hold on till the end And that's what I intend to do I'm hopelessly devoted To you But now there's nowhere To hide Since you pushed My love aside I'm out of my head Hopelessly devoted to you Hopelessly devoted to you Who-whoo Hopelessly devoted to you Whoo-o [audience applauding] He's back.

-Thank you.
We, we'd like to do another song from Grease, are you up for it?
[audience] Yeah.
And would you join in?
-[audience] Yes.
-Yes?
-Yeah, it's getting-- -Would that be okay?
It's getting a bit greasy up here, isn't it?
[Olivia laughs] So, I'm going to divide them into T-Birds and Pink Ladies.
What do you reckon?
-[audience screaming] -So the girls will sing with me and Lisa and Suzie.
Can I be one of those boys.
-Yeah, you can be one of those T-Birds.
-Oh, okay.
[Olivia] So, John will sing with Rod and Lindsey and Steve.

Tell me more tell me more Did you get very far?
Tell me more, tell me more Like does he have a car?
[vocalizing] She swam by me She got a cramp He ran by me Got my suit damp I saved her life She nearly drowned He showed off Splashing around Summer sun Something's begun But uh oh Those summer nights Well-a well-a well-a uh!
Tell me more tell me more Was it love at first sight?
Tell me more, tell me more Did she put up a fight?
Da-do-be-do-do-be-do Do-be-do-do-be-da [vocalizing] Took her bowling In the arcade We went strolling Drank lemonade We made out under a rock We stayed out Till ten o'clock Whoa!
Summer fling Don't mean a thing But uh oh Those summer nights Tell me more tell me more But you don't gotta brag Tell me more tell me more 'Cause he sounds Like a drag Sho-bop-bop, sho-bop-bop Sho-bop-bop, sho-bop-bop Sho-bop-bop, sho-bop-bop Sho-bop-bop, sho-bop-bop He got friendly Holding my hand She got friendly Down in the sand He was sweet Just turned eighteen Well, she was good You know what I mean Summer heat Boy and girl meet But uh oh, Those summer nights Tell me more tell me more How much dough Did he spend?
Tell me more tell me more Could she get me a friend?

Devil woman.
Okay, out here we come.
Get ahead boys.
[John] Oh, dear, devil woman.
[John] Come on now.
[audience screaming] [singing "Reasons"] [John] Here we go.
Some people are dreamers They live for the future As if it would work out Just as they dreamed It would work out Somehow Others get caught in Yesterday's papers Too busy reading, To get on with living I live for now Oh, oh, ho Oh, yes [indistinct speaking] Sometimes it's easy To make up excuses On the flimsiest pretext And then call them reasons But they're wrong somehow Like I'm way too busy I can't be involved now And then there's the standby About understanding But they're They're wrong somehow Geez!
Oh, I'll climb more Than a mountain Swim more than an ocean Build up an island Live for a lifetime Just give me a reason And I'll come running When I have reasons I know the way I'm pointing my feet In the right direction Give me a reason Well, give me a reason [John] Oh, yes.
Some people are dreamers They live for the future As if it would work out Just as they dreamed It would work out Somehow Oh I'll climb More than a mountain Swim more than an ocean Build up an island I'll live for a lifetime Give me a reason And I'll come running When I have reasons I know the way I'm pointing my feet In the right direction Give me a reason I'm pointing my feet In the right direction And when I have reasons I know the way Give me a reason And I'll come back Give me a reason Give me a reason [John] Come on, ma'am.
Just give me a reason [speaking indistinctly] [audience cheering] [John] Whoo, hoo.
This next one is uh, a song written by, uh, an Australian.
Olivia is lucky she's been working with some of the greatest song writers in the world, and uh, most of them have been Australian which has been pretty fantastic.
I'm also very lucky.
And they send me their songs they don't really want.
I've written this one, got through... uh, not really.
I've been very, very lucky indeed.
This one's called "Man of the Hour."
[singing "Man Of The Hour"] [vocalizing] [John] Sing it to me, Linds.
[John] Ha!
The ice is melting In my glass There's a storm out On the ocean A picture in a golden frame Lying cracked and broken If you lined up All the losers Put them in my shoes They'd put me on a pedestal And crown me prince of fools Cause even though You did me wrong My heart denies the fact If you give me Half a chance You'll know I'll take you back If there's a fool born Every minute Then I'm the man Of the hour Seems I've been living A lie for so long now If there's a spot light Then I'm in it Cause I haven't Got the power To know when love is over I'm the man of the hour There's a time For giving up on love And a time To stay and fight I would give anything To be with you tonight Hey!
God I must be twisted 'cause I know you're just no good If you asked me To blind my eyes Then girl you know I would If there's a fool born every minute Then I'm the man Of the hour Seems I've been living a lie For so long now If there's a spot light Then I'm in it 'Cause I haven't got The power To know when love is over I'm the man of the hour Only stabbin' from my heart Let it beat again In my world Of self-illusion Only you can stop the pain Let's do it.
Fraser, Ladies and gentlemen.
Even though you did me wrong My heart denies the fact If you give me Half a chance You'll know I'll take you back If there's a fool Born every minute Then I'm the man Of the hour Seems I've been living A lie for so long now If there's a spot light Then I'm in it 'Cause I haven't got The power To know when love is over I'm the man of the hour Just so you know If there's a fool Born every minute If there's a fool Born every minute Yeah If there's a spot light Then I'm in it Oh, yeah If there's a fool Born every minute Oh yeah If there's a spot light Then I'm in it If there's a fool Born every minute [man whistling] If there's a spot light Then I'm in it [vocalizing] [John] If there's a fool Born every minute Oh, no [John] That's it.
[audience cheering and applauding] Okay... [singing "Pressure Down"] Oh, yeah.
Oh, yeah, let me see everybody, Chris, please.
Come on there.
[vocalizing] [John whistles] Jump.
Set the wheels in motion And watch them Turning round I want to sail Across the ocean I've grown weary Of this town Sing with us.
Take the pressure down - Cause I can feel it - Cause I can feel it Oh Take hold of the wheels And turn them around Take the pressure down In this city full of danger We lead our separate lives And I was frightened By a stranger With desperation In her eyes Take the pressure down Ah, ah 'Cause I can feel it It's rising like a storm Take hold of the wheels And turn them around Take the pressure down Someone turned The pressure on I called your name And you were gone And I was trapped Like a prisoner In this lonely town I'm gonna let things slide Until the pressure Comes down Oh shame on you Oh the winner Tells his story The loser hides in shame The winner steals the glory While the loser Takes the pain Here we go.
Take the take the Take the Take the Take the pressure down Come on down.
'Cause I can feel it I can feel it Yeah yeah yeah yeah Take hold of the wheels And turn them around Take the pressure down Take the pressure down 'Cause I can feel it It's rising like a storm Take hold of the wheels And turn them around - Take the pressure down - Take the pressure down Take the pressure down Yeah Cause I can feel it It's rising like a storm Oh ho ho Take hold of the wheels And turn them around Take the pressure down Take the pressure down Cause I can feel it It's rising like a storm Take hold of the wheels And turn them around Take the pressure down Yep!
[audience cheering and applauding] [singing "Playing To Win"] Wow!
If you want me Come and get me You don't have a chance If you don't move now I'm not waiting any longer You know that I'm playing To win this time When you make your move I won't hesitate If you take too long You can be too late This time I'm playing to win If you want me Come and see me Don't wait around For another chance Make your mind up make your play You should be playing To win this time When you make your move I won't hesitate If you take too long You can be too late This time I'm playing to win All those wasted years On my own I was only a motion away I got what I wanted for me I didn't see it was Not going to be there I was a fool This time I'm playing to win Yeah yeah hey If you want me Come and get me You don't have a chance If you don't move now I'm not waiting any longer Know that I'm playing To win this time When you make your move I won't hesitate If you take too long You can be too late This time I'm playing to win When you make your move I won't hesitate If you take too long You can be too late This time I'm playing to win This time I'm playing to win You know that I've Made up my mind This time I'm playing to win Oh, yeah This time I'm playing to win Yeah [audience cheering and applauding] Yeah.
