Now to eastern Wisconsin, where the DNR created new rules regarding manure spreading. In response to widespread groundwater contamination, the DNR is limiting the amount of manure farmers may spread on their fields. The measure depends on the amount of topsoil but requires at least two feet to be present. However, according to the DNR board, no funding has been secured yet to implement the new rule, which now heads to Governor Walker for approval.
