Now for an update on the 7th Congressional District special election. The previously-announced dates for that election in the district that’s in the northwestern part of Wisconsin must be changed because federal law requires 45 days between the primary and general to allow for absentee votes. U.S. Representative Sean Duffy held the 7th until he resigned in September due to a family matter. Three Republican candidates are now vying for the open seat: State Senator Tom Tiffany, Army veteran and former political aid Jason Church and hobby farmer Michael Opela Sr. are all running for Duffy’s seat.
