Frederica Freyberg:
Devastating storms struck several northeastern Wisconsin counties this week leaving one dead and three injured. The National Weather Service confirmed three tornadoes in areas where winds likely exceeded 100 miles per hour. Tens of thousands were without power at one point and the storms and falling trees caused millions of dollars in damage. On Thursday, Governor Walker visited New London where the storms destroyed a church hall and severely damaged the roof of the church itself. Cleanup continues there and in other areas affected with help from multiple state agencies. President Barack Obama approved federal disaster aid on Thursday for another part of the state that suffered heavy storms in June.
