Scott Walker:
I think we’ve got a message of opportunity and optimism that resonates across the board. We have to be willing. We talk about relevance, we've got to be willing to go to places that Republicans don’t typically go to and not be afraid to share a message. Because it’s a winning message. But all too often the folks in those groups I mentioned by default assume that because we are not there, we don’t care, and so they take the truce because there is nobody to counter the message about. We need to get the message out, be optimistic and relevant, and then most importantly, we need to be courageous. Not just in how we campaign, but more importantly, in how we govern.
You see, the president and his allies, they seemingly measure success in government by how many people are dependent on the government. By how many people are on Medicaid and food stamps and unemployment compensation. They measure success by how many people are dependent on government. We, we should measure success by how many people are not.
