At UW-Madison's D.C. Smith Greenhouse, the Titan Arum plant, also known as the "corpse flower" because of its foul smell, bloomed for the second time since the greenhouse acquired the seed in 2001 -- although the flower collapses about 24 to 48 hours after blooming.

Corpse Flower Blooms at UW Greenhouse
Frederica Freyberg:
Finally tonight, be thankful we are not broadcasting to you in smell-o-vision. That’s because you’re peeking in on the stinky Titan Arum, more commonly known as the corpse flower, due to the horrendous stench it gives off after it blooms. The flower is on display at the UW Horticulture Department greenhouse. A link to the live shot of the plant can be fount on our website at wpt.org/hereandnow.
