Frederica Freyberg: Turning now to the 2020 spring election where a new candidate has entered the race for state Supreme Court. Incumbent Justice Daniel Kelly says he will be seeking a full 10-year term next April. He was appointed to the bench in 2016 and is considered part of the court’s four seat conservative majority. He joins two other candidates vying for the seat, Dane County Judge Jill Karofsky and Marquette Law Professor Ed Fallone, both of whom are expected to receive liberal backing. A February primary will narrow the field to two candidates who will face each other the same day as Wisconsin’s April presidential primary.
