Frederica Freyberg: Now for a look down the tracks to the 2020 convention, Milwaukee may not be able to expand its streetcar route ahead of next summer’s Democratic National Convention. City officials wanted to expand the 2 mile stretch of track to reach the location of the convention, but a committee vote this week put the brakes on the plan for now. Among the concerns were how to pay for the streetcar, and how to make sure areas outside of downtown benefit from the expansion. With the vote, the full council will likely not hear the plan before June.
